It started with a mother's love

Our story starts with a mother whose daughter has down syndrome. As she looked around in Lingarajpuram Bangalore, she saw the lack of access to affordable disability care. As a Christian who believes all people are created with dignity, she was filled with passion to do something to help.

After opening in 2016 with 3 students meeting in a house, the past 7 years has seen the school expand. It now operates under 'Grace Foundation Charitable Trust',  serving 40 students and counting. This founding mother, Lourd Mary directs Grace Foundation School with the same passion and nurture that she has for her own daughter. She says:

"I see every student as one of my children"

Why do we exist?

We exist to help the helpless.

Most students come to us from impoverished families who are unable to provide necessary disability care. In such situations, parents are forced to make the impossible choice between caring for their child or leaving them locked in a room all day in order to go to work and provide. On top of this, the cultural stigma against disability often leads to family abandonment of mother and child.
